Keratin, hair botox or nanoplastia in Kharghar

Start with the short answer. Hair botox conditions, keratin straightens, and nanoplastia does some of both while holding longer.

The confusion is not your fault. Salons name these after the products they buy, and brands rename them again for marketing.

The same treatment can appear on three price lists under three words. Ask what a name means in the room you are sitting in.

One thing is true of all three, and it is the thing worth knowing first. None of them changes your hair permanently. They grow out and wash out, somewhere between two and six months.

There is no toxin in it, and nothing is injected. The name borrowed an association and never gave it back, which is unhelpful when you are trying to choose.

What it actually is: a deep conditioning treatment built on keratin, collagen, amino acids and vitamins. It fills the gaps in a damaged cuticle, so hair reads softer and catches the light better.

What it does not do is straighten. Coarse, genuinely curly hair will come out of a botox treatment with softer curls, not a straight finish. It suits hair that is dry, over-coloured or fragile and needs feeding rather than flattening.

It also fades fastest of the three, usually inside two to four months.

Keratin smooths the cuticle and seals it with heat. This is the one people mean when they say they want their hair straight for a few months.

It handles thick or unruly hair better than the other two. Expect three to five months.

Here is the part that tends to get skipped.

The US Food and Drug Administration warns that hair smoothing products can release formaldehyde gas when they are heated. Its advice is to check the label for formaldehyde, formalin or methylene glycol. It also says the work belongs with a trained professional in a properly ventilated room, never done at home.

So ask. Ask what is in the bottle before it goes anywhere near your head, at any salon in Kharghar, including this one. A room that cannot answer that question has told you something useful.

A strand test is worth asking for as well. It shows how your own hair takes the treatment before the whole head is committed to it.

Nanoplastia is the newest of the three. It works on amino acids and organic acids rather than the older chemistry, and it is normally sold as formaldehyde free.

Normally is carrying weight in that sentence. Formulas vary between brands, so it belongs in the same question as the one above rather than being taken on trust.

What it does well is alignment and shine. It holds longest of the three, often four to six months. Hair ends up looking smooth to the light rather than merely straightened.

How you wash it decides where in that range you land. Sulphate free shampoo, cooler water, and a few days before the first wash will buy you weeks. Heat styling every morning will spend them again.

Read your own hair before you read a price list.

Bring a photograph of your own hair on a good day, rather than a photograph of somebody else’s. It says more about what you actually want than any adjective can.

Coarse, curly hair that you want genuinely straight points to keratin. Hair that has gone dry or brittle under colour wants feeding instead, which is hair botox. If the priority is simply the longest hold with the least frizz, nanoplastia.

Humidity complicates all of it. Frizz returns faster in Navi Mumbai than the label on any bottle suggests, and that is a climate problem rather than a product failure.

Sometimes the honest answer is none of them. Hair that has just been bleached is a reason to wait.
